Lead State Summary Report

This report provides each state a listing of the NAIC insurance groups in which they have been determined to be the lead state. The report can also be run on a particular group. Regulators are encouraged to use the report to begin implementing the lead state concept as discussed in the NAIC's white paper entitled "Framework for Insurance Holding Company Analysis."

The report generated lists the Department Analyst associated with the insurance company.  As you hover over the analyst name, the phone number and email address of the analyst will display.  Click on the analyst name and an email to that person will be created.

1. Click the Summary Reports link under the Tools tab.

2. Select Lead Summary from the Financial Analysis / Examination area of the page.  Click the description button to read the expected results of the report.

3. The Lead Summary  Report Search Criteria will be displayed.  On the page, select from the following criteria:

  • Lead State
  • Period
  • Year
  • Report Format

     

  • Group Name (optional)
  • Group Code (optional)
  • Cocode (optional)
  • Domestic Report (optional)
  • Primary Sort (optional)
  • Secondary Sort (optional)

4. Click on the Submit button  

5. The report contains the following fields:

  • Group / Insurer
  • Group / Cocode
  • Lead State(s)
  • Dept. Analyst
  • Dom (Domicile)
  • State Bks / Rec (Books/Records)
  • Stmt. (Statement Type)
  • State Lic. (License)
  • DPW (Direct Premiums)
  • Percent of Total DPW
  • GPW (Gross Premiums)
  • Net Admitted Assets
  • Last Exam

6. To save the report, select the appropriate option from the File menu.

7. To return to the Summary reports page close your browser window.
