RBC Quarterly Estimation Tool

RBC Quarterly Estimation Tool

The RBC (Risked-Based Capital) Quarterly Estimation Tool allows regulators to analyze and estimate a company's RBC ratio throughout the year based on the company's prior year-end RBC filing and the current quarter statement filing.  For example, the RBC Quarterly Estimation Tool can be used to analyze a company that had a low RBC ratio at the prior year-end and continues to experience worsening results; or a company that had an RBC ratio that was satisfactory at the prior year-end but experienced worsening financial conditions during the year, such as a significant decline in surplus or an increase in writings.

The RBC Quarterly Estimation Tool is available from the Categories page under Financial Analysis/Examination for the current year.

 Features include:

  • Direct pulls from the quarterly statement
  • The Covariance page includes the CQ and PYE Amounts for comparison purposes
  • Edits made by the user are highlighted to track changes
