RBC Quarterly Estimation Tool
The RBC (Risked-Based Capital)
Quarterly Estimation Tool allows regulators to analyze and estimate a
company's RBC ratio throughout the year based on the company's prior
year-end RBC filing and the current quarter statement filing.
For example, the RBC Quarterly Estimation Tool can be used to analyze a
company that had a low RBC ratio at the prior year-end and continues to
experience worsening results; or a company that had an RBC ratio that was
satisfactory at the prior year-end but experienced worsening financial
conditions during the year, such as a significant decline in surplus or an
