Short Company Names Standards  

In this application, individual or combined company names are not as important as standardization. If a name has not been standardized, you must standardize it.

The following rules apply when creating short company names:
 
  • Remove dashes, single quotes, and extra spaces.
  • Remove the word "The" if it is the first word of the full company name.
  • The name Insurance is shortened to Ins unless it is the FIRST occurrence in the company name.
  • You do not need to remove the words "A" and "An".
