Entity Relationships

Frequently, one insurance entity has some type of relationship to one or more other insurance entities. The Relationships application displays the entities related to the original entity, as well as the database information available on those related entities.

Relationship types include:

  • Affiliated with - the related entity has a business affiliation with the entity looked up
  • Apparent relationship by unknown - the state providing the information is aware of a relationship between the related entity and the entity looked up, but is unaware of the exact nature of the relationship
  • Employee of - the related entity is employed by the entity looked up
  • Employer of - the related entity employs the entity looked up
  • Family related - the related entity has a marital or blood   relationship with the entity looked up
  • Owned or controlled by - the related entity is a firm owned by the entity looked up
  • Officer or director of - the related entity holds a fiduciary position for the entity looked up
  • Producer relationship - the related entity sells the products of the entity looked up
  • Principal or owner of - the related entity owns the entity looked up
  • Parent of - the related entity is a parent organization of the entity looked up
  • Representative for - the related entity represents the entity looked up
  • Subsidiary of - the related entity is a subsidiary organization of the entity looked up
  • Underwriting company for - the related entity underwrites business for the entity looked up

To view Entity Relationships:

  1. Search for an individual(s) or firm(s) by performing a Company/Firm Search, Individual Entity, or a Business Entity Search. (NOTE: To view Relationships for multiple individuals or firms, the criteria completed on the Search page must be an exact match.)
  2. The Lookup Results page displays a list of entities that match the criteria entered on the search page.
  3. Click the Relationships link in the Available Information section to view information for the entity. If no data is available, a page will display that states, "No Data Found", once the link is clicked.
  4. The Relationships page will display listing the entity relationships for the selected firm or individual. Basic Demographic information for the selected individual or firm is displayed at the top of the Relationships page.

    Information that may be available for an individual includes Entity Name, National Producer Number, Social Security Number, Date of Birth, Number of Relationships and the date the database was last updated.

    Information that may be available for a firm includes Entity Name, Entity Number, FEIN, Company Code, Alien Number, Group Number, Number of Relationships, and the date the database was last updated.
  5. The table displayed below the basic demographic information includes the individuals or firms that the selected entity has a relationship with. The information for each relationship includes the Entity Name, Entity Number or National Producer Number, Type of Relationship and links to other available information about that entity within the iSite+ applications.
  6. To view detailed demographic information about the related entity, click the name link for the entity. The detailed information includes Other Names and All Addresses. Demographic information about the original entity is available by clicking the name link at the top of the page.  Notice the MAP-Demographics link at the top of the Demographics page.
  7. To save the Relationships data page as a plain text file or print the page as it appears, select the appropriate option from your browser's file menu. (NOTE: You cannot save or print the data page using the secondary (right) click menu options used for Financial Reports.)
  8. To return to the Lookup Results page, click the Back button located at the bottom of the page or the Back button on the browser.
  9. To perform another search or navigate to a different application within iSite+, select the appropriate link at the top of the page.
